What is MakerMatch?

Do I need CAD skills?
No. Customers just describe what they need. Our AI helps figure out the best approach. A designer creates the file.
Is it free?
Creating an account is free. Customers pay for orders. Designers and makers earn money. Platform takes a small fee.
For Customers
How do I get something made?
Submit a new project, describe your idea, select a maker, a designer creates the file, maker produces it, you receive it.
How much does it cost?
Depends on service, material, complexity, and quantity. AI gives an instant estimate. Maker confirms final price. You approve before paying.
Can I reorder?
Yes — every completed design is in your Vault. One-click reorder with same or customized specs.
Can I get the source files?
Standard orders include reorder rights. Premium Buyout gives you full source file ownership.
For Designers
How do I earn?
Browse available jobs, claim ones matching your skills, create production-ready files. Earn 25% of the job price.
Who owns my designs?
Designs created through MakerMatch are platform-owned. You retain credit and build your rating.
For Makers
How do I get jobs?
Add your equipment profiles with specs and materials. Jobs matching your capabilities are routed to you.
How much do I earn?
NEW tier: keep 60% (15% platform fee + 25% designer). ESTABLISHED: keep 65%. TOP: keep 70%.
Can I offer pickup?
Yes — enable in Settings. Nearby customers see you as a pickup option.
What if a print fails?
Use Report Production Failure. Job resets for retry. Honest reporting builds trust.
Trust & Safety
Why no contact sharing?
Keeps payments secure, quality tracked, and disputes mediatable. All interactions stay on-platform.
What are trust tiers?
NEW → ESTABLISHED (10+ jobs, 4.5+ rating) → TOP (50+ jobs, 4.8+ rating). Higher tier = lower platform fee.
What if someone breaks rules?
Chat violations are logged. Repeated violations trigger flags. Accounts can be suspended or banned.
Payments
How do payments work?
Customer pays after approving the quote. Platform holds payment and distributes to designer and maker after completion.
Any hidden fees?
No. Platform fee is transparent and tier-based. Everyone sees exact amounts before committing.
